D-Mannose and its use with bladder infections

D-Mannose is a 100% natural sugar which is not metabolised very well in humans, and therefore 99% of it passes into the bladder unchanged. It is for this reason that it can be so effective in managing bladder infections and bladder sensitivity.

It is thought that D-Mannose prevents bacteria attaching to the lining of the urinary tract and works particularly efficiently against E.coli which is the main bacteria implicated in bladder infections. Anecdotal reports from patients tell of great improvement in symptoms.

The popular belief is that d-mannose is present in cranberries, it is not present in most varieties and even then in very small amounts. The natural d-mannose available to buy is extracted from timber in which it is present in greater quantities.

D-Mannose is helpful for bladder infections of both sexes, and is safe to use with pregnant women, children and dogs and cats.

Menopausal women can be particularly prone to repeated bladder infections, as are elderly and perhaps incontinent people. Unexplained confusion in an elderly person may well be due to an undiagnosed and symptomless bladder infection. People who have paraplegia also suffer repeated bladder infections as do other infirm people who are confined to a wheelchair.

The beauty of D-Mannose is that it can be taken as a preventative measure – I myself take one tablet every evening. That vulnerable feeling of an impending infection has gone and I have been infection free since I began taking D-Mannose.

For your convenience it is available in both tablet and powder form. Taken in the powder form in a drink, 90% of it reaches the bladder within the hour. It is for this reason that it can provide such rapid relief.

Testimonials for D-Mannose

"Thanks for info and quick response, I have ordered some more powder now and will get tablets in February.

Just wanted to say thanks to you both for the excellent service you offer, I used to suffer on a monthly basis from cystitis attacks and frequently on antibiotics. I grew up a large resistance to them and then suffered a couple of kidney infections - one I was in hospital with.

(Touch wood!) Waterfall D Mannose has worked very well for me so that I haven't had to have antibiotics in the past 2.5 years. It's great stuff! Many thanks."

"Waterfall D-Mannose is a brilliant product! I can wholeheartedly recommend it to anybody who suffers from cystitis. It works, especially in the case of persistent infections, like nothing else does and the fact that one does not have to resort to antibiotics (which don’t cure the problem anyway) is a huge relief. I always have some in the house, which is just as well because now I even have to hand it out to the neighbours! It is a very rare to find a healthcare product which lives up to all its claims but Waterfall D-Mannose does exactly that!"

How and When to Use D-Mannose

How much to take
A level teaspoonful of the powder, (or 2 x 1g tablets) every three hours for a couple of days is a good guide for most people who need urgent support for their bladder problem.

A teaspoonful before bed is an excellent propylactic dose and to help a sensitive bladder.

And a teaspoonful an hour before sex, and immediately afterwards (don't urinate until afterwards) is an excellent way of preventing further sex-related episodes of bladder problems. Basically, you take as much of it as you need either for urgent support, or maintenance.

Is Waterfall D-Mannose safe, even at large dose levels?
Yes, to the very best of our knowledge, and according to all research. Mannose is an essential glyconutrient, rather than a 'medicine'. It is in every cell in your body, and your body produces mannose naturally.

Mannose is also present in minute quantities in some foods like blueberries, pineapple, and aloe vera, and is very natural to the body. Waterfall D-Mannose (we speak only for our product, and can't vouch for others) has no known adverse effects at normal or even high consumption levels. Suggested maximum consumption is 50 grams a day. But few people would require that level of bladder support. Being a natural product rather than a medicine, you can decide how much to take.

More about D-Mannose

D-Mannose is available in both tablet and powder form
The only difference between the tablets and the powder is that the tablets have binding agents. Also of course, you just swallow the tablets with a drink instead of dissolving them in water. And they are just as good value. You get 50 grams of Waterfall D-Mannose in 100 tablets, for the same price as the powder. Handy for taking in public. It can be a bit embarrassing to take a bag of white powder out in a cafe...

Is Waterfall D-Mannose safe for babies and pregnant mothers?
To the very best of our knowledge, Waterfall D-Mannose is safe for everyone - and also won't harm the unborn child. In fact d-mannose is an essential glyconutrient.

Can Waterfall D-Mannose be taken with a prescription drug?
There are no known drug interactions with Waterfall D-Mannose, so although of course you should always ask your doctor before taking ANY alternative remedy alongside a prescription drug, it should be safe for you to do take.

Many urologists and doctors now recommend Waterfall D-Mannose to their patients for their bladder problems, bladder sensitivity and bladder health. It is a very pure grade product, and we firmly believe there is nothing better on the market. With Waterfall D-Mannose soluble powder, you just get pure natural 100% bio-active mannose, that uses the entire mannose molecule.

Waterfall D-Mannose is a pure natural glyconutrient extract of Sweet European Forest Timbers, used to support a healthy bladder. Despite the common myth that cranberry juice helps bladder problems, E.coli, the usual bacteria involved, can metabolise the hippuric acid that cranberry puts into the urine, and this makes things worse for most people. Most cranberries contain no D-Mannose. Some contain a little, but not nearly enough to make it financially viable to extract it. It would take tons of fresh cranberries to make a small packet of D-Mannose.

Over the last 6 years Waterfall D-Mannose has earned an excellent reputation for supporting a healthy bladder and urinary tract. Since you are reading this, it is probably exactly what you are looking for. It is 100% safe, even taken frequently over an extended period, it gives immediate bladder support, and it brings additional benefits with long term use. The longer you take it, the healthier your bladder becomes.
